USA East Coast Photo Book, Day Three (part 2): New York
Adriii finaly got the time to do her long-time expected train-trip through the north-east coast of the United States… and she is telling us about her journey!

So, It’s time to continue talking about my third day at New York. I left the story with us having lunch at T.G.I. Friday’s, which is so close the NY Stock Exchange. Right now it is not going through its best time so there was a lot of security and media presence there.

After taking a picture with the large American flag there, we continue our way to the south end of the city. While taking some pictures at the park near the Stock Exchange, we saw a group of people taking pictures to something and that’s how we found the famous Charging Bull. A few pictures after we keep going and get to Battery Park.

I didn’t expect it to be that big and fantastic. There’re a lot of things to do there: visit a memorial or enjoy the statues all along the park. But we cannot wait to take the ferry to Staten Island so we do.
The Ferry is free and it’s a half an hour ride through the bay. You can see and take pictures of the Liberty Statue from there and also take a no-so-close look to Ellis Island. Once in Staten Island, we decide to walk a couple of blocks to see the Island. Soon we realized that there’s nothing so special about it so we take the ferry back to Manhattan.

We’ve been walking the whole day so we take the subway to the 59th street to do a little visit to the Apple Store. After checking our emails and play a little bit with apple’s “toys”, we decide to go visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It’s dark already so it’s a good time to slowly walk enjoying the city and the little details.
A few blocks later, we arrive to the Cathedral. It’s majestic and so interesting. They let you to come inside for free if you don’t take pictures or disturb the people there. There we realized today was our last days to pick up our Rail Passes so we ran to Penn Station to get them.
After that we are too tired to go on visiting so we buy some food to take and eat it in the hostel’s terrace while we look at the train schedules. We really made the most of this day.
