This is one of the greatest things about Times Square: gigantic branded stores!! The M&M’s store is great not just because of all the merchandising but also because it’s a perfect place to look around while tasting all different coloured-kinds of chocolate. Dinner and fun for free ;)

Kitsch, thy name is Tutti Frutti. Looking for a “Grow a President Obama” (simply put him in a glass of water !!!!), George Bush Dumb Gum, Elvis PEZ dispenser, sock monkeys, vintage inspired lunch boxes, or a kit to make your own “Holy Toast”? This is the shop for you!

The ultimate in kitschy gifts that aren’t necessary, but you just want them, they have gifts, gift wrap & cards. Unlike other gift shops where the kitsch is mainly geared toward the adults, they also has a kid’s section with books & toys.

Kaufbar is a cozy cafe where you can buy everything you see, I mean, the chair you are sitting on or the table you are sitting at, the pictures, couches…everything!

That means decoration is constantly changing. There is a biergarten at the back (open in summer). It´s the ideal place to go before or after visiting Boxhagenerplatz´s Flea market to have lunch.

A huge cemetery in the center of the city, in the park with the same name. Here is where you can find the tomb of Evita Perón.

Located in San Francisco’s Japantown, Super 7 is a Japanese toy shop that also has art and counter culture books and t-shirts.

If you’re a toy collector you probably already know them; they also publish a magazine. If not it’s a great place to go to see some freaky toys.

This is not a regular chocolate store. They sell pieces of chocolate in all forms and size you can imagine. They have animals, professions, buildings, transports, patriotic… But the best sellers are the body parts.

People seem to rely on Muller’s chocolate for they gifts… apart from the variety, they do personalized chocolates! So you can just ask for candy in the size of Angelina Jolie if that’s what your boyfriend likes ;)
Oh, and.. it’s delicious :P

This area of Palermo was the redoubt of poets and writers and thus it was also the refuge for the tango of those times.
Gradually, it wasthe center for the artistic “avant-garde” with regard to notonly decorations, clothes and artistic design, but also for new trend in gastronomy, entertainment and night life.

Indeed, this area of the city transformed itself into the hub for the “porteño” way of life and for the bohemian culture and the eclecticblend of old and new trends.

This place old warehouse is a thrift store rummager’s dream. Especially the Dollar-a-Pound, which literally allows you to buy clothes by the pound for a buck (actually, due to inflation, it’s $1.50 a pound these days).

This place has second-hand jeans, branded clothing and vintage attire – some of it unworn. But be warned, about 75 percent of it is junk, so you’ll need time to find some nuggets.

Located in Prenzlauer Berg, it offers yummy waffles, ice cream and pancakes. You can buy everything you see in there: tables, chairs, lamps, pictures, etc.

Sitting outside in summer is very nice, even on Sunday when Mauerpark Flea Market takes place.

As you read it. Don’t throw out your receipts! They are actually lottery tickets with a number on them. Each two months the government does a lot and displays the uniform-invoice winning numbers on a website. It’s a funny way to fight the tax fraud. If you are not interested on the prize, you should put them into the plastic boxes you’ll find in every convenience store and most of the shops. The money earn by those tickets will be used in social campaings.
