Pick of the week: Papabubble, hard candy store
Posted on October 26, 2009 by maria
The smell of cooked sugar wafting down a quiet street in the Barri Gòtic….Papabubble owners make old-fashioned way sweets.
All their candies are made of sugar, water, glucose and colors. Candy makers melt the sugar, add colors, and make shapes inside the shop. One of the shop keeper was cutting the candy in one-bite size.
It´s like visiting a small candy factory, where all the doors are open.

A quick and cheap way to visit Sagrada Familia in Barcelona posted by dyii
Sagrada Familia is one of the most famous and visited spots in BCN.
You can already find the information more than enough about Gaudi and histories and stories about the architecture, so here I give you tips how to make a visit to Sagrada Familia Quick and Cheap.
The entrance ticket is 13euros, but people from all around the world are always in a long cue to enter and see the masterpiece of Gaudi. Is it the only way to enter?

Of course no..
There’s a small entrance on the left hand side of the Glory Facade (modern facade) connected to the inside of the building. It is opened to the locals who want to pray and participate in the misa, but it is always opened.
It will not be as fancy as climbing up the stairs of the temple and looking down at the nice view of Barcelona, but it’s good enough if you have limited time and bugdet. The pictures I uploaded here are all taken from the free entrance part.
Enjoy!

Next stop: the World of 1001 nights, lots of oranges and couscous. Lets go!

I love having lunch next to the Barceloneta beach.
There are some great restaurants -Ca La Nuri, Escrivá- next to the beach with fabulous paellas and fish food

And on a raining day?
Some exhibitions at the CCCB, MACBA or VIRREINA ART CENTER. Shopping at La Central bookshop and, maybe, a delicious cocktail at MILANO
What is the best way to get around in the town?
Walking or bicing are the best options
Favourite place?
The gardens of the old University at University Square; a beautiful small park with a tiny lake is one of my secret places
What shouldn’t be missed on someone’s first visit to Barcelona?
A walk by El Raval, El Barrio Gótico, Santa María del Mar and El Borne. Going up and down by Paseo de Gracia (to see some of best Gaudi’s buildings) and a beer next to the beach. The Holy Family and Parc Güell by Gaudi can wait…
Barcelona best club?
For me, Lotus Theater
